Grayson College teams up with Wilson N. Jones to offer training

Today’s nurses in the primary and secondary school setting are faced with many unique challenges. Grayson College and Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center have partnered to assist local school nurses in providing excellent care to school age pediatric patients.

A two-day program beginning Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11 from at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. will give school nurses the opportunity to enhance their skills and network with their peers. This free training will be offered at the Health Science building on the Grayson College Main Campus.

Nurses will take part in advanced skills training and simulation labs in areas such as tracheotomy care, breath sounds, feeding tubes and foley catherizations as well as attend seminars on concussion management, diabetes, seizures and depression.

CEUs are not available, but if you are interested in attending please email cblack@wnj.org or call 903-816-0652 for details.
